The GEMS World Academy-Dubai Uniform

GWA-Dubai expects students to adhere to a high standard for student presentation through a compulsory uniform. This promotes a school-ready, work-orientated atmosphere for students as they prepare to take on the challenges of the day. Students may wear non-uniform sweaters and jackets to and from school, but not during the school day. If a student arrives at school not in regulation attire, parents will be contacted and may be required to bring in missing uniform pieces.

The chart below indicates items that are part of the GWA-Dubai uniform and available for purchase at ZAKS Uniform Shops. Items marked with an “ * ” are required, but may be purchased elsewhere as they do not need to be GWA-Dubai branded items. Items marked as “optional” are available at ZAKS for purchase, but only based on student or family preference and/or seasonal need. Please remember to clearly label all items with your student’s name so that lost items can find their way back to their owner.

In addition to the required uniform items on the chart below, please also bear in mind the following:

• Earrings, necklaces and bracelets must be discrete and not disrupt learning; if they attract attention then they are too much!
• Visible body piercings and/or tattoos are not acceptable
• Finger nail polish should be transparent or lighter colors only
• Hats are required for outside activities
• A reusable water bottle should be brought to school and used on a daily basis
