Beyond the Regular School Day

After School Activities (ASA’s)

Each term, students are invited to extend their day by attending After School Activities (ASA’s). The ASA program choices are developed in consultation with faculty, paretns and our provider for external ASA's, E-Sports. Activities run in three sessionsper year, each typically 8-10 weeks in length.

GWA staff and outside providers combine to deliver a range of clubs that extend, develop and enrich the student experiences. Activities change in each of the three sessions and range from sport, science and language, to media, the arts and beyond. While most activities are hosted on the GWA campus, some activities (e.g. golf, skiing, horseback riding, etc.) are just a short bus journey away!

Activities are usually an hour in length after school beginning at 3:45 p.m. after a short "prep" break at the end of school. Parents are requested to arrange collection of their children at 4:45 p.m. from the cafeteria area unless utilizing the GWA/STS bus service. Please note that some off-campus paid activities commence at 4:30 p.m. and thus students will require a later collection by parents from the activitiy site.

E-Sports

E-Sports is Dubai's leading sports training academy for all levels. Programs include, tennis, football, swimming, cricket, rugby, climbing, holiday camps and much more. E-Sports main aim is to provide all students with the knowledge and tools to better themselves within the sport, with the focus on enjoyment through learning

GEMS have engaged the services of E-Sports for additional activities which run alongside GWA's free, school-based activities. There are costs for all these activities as detailed in the session schedules. Places are not guaranteed as demand can be high and spots are allocated as vacancies are available on a first come, first served basis. Look for information in the newsletters about sign up days so that you don't miss out.
