Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Kristen has lived in Dubai for over half of her life, both as a child and an adult. Kristen is a highly experienced educator, having taught for over twenty years in American, British and IB curriculums. She started teaching at GEMS World Academy in 2012. During her time here, she has taught Grade One, been the Team Leader for first grade, and led the Wellness Committee before becoming Assistant Principal in 2015. Kristen completed the two year GEMS Leadership Training course and has led in-school workshops on environmental classroom spaces and classroom management strategies.
Prior to coming to GWA, she worked at Rashid School for Boys for nine years. At Rashid School she taught a range of grade levels, including a learning support class, and was the Head of Humanities and Staff Wellness, as well as Activities Co-coordinator. From 2000 – 2004, Kristen worked at the American School of Dubai as a Kindergarten teacher. Of all the curriculums she has taught, Kristen enjoys the IB the most because she believes in “creating a better world through education.” In her personal time, Kristen enjoys spending time with her husband, her 15 year old daughter, and her 11 year old twins, all of whom attend GWA.
