Megan La Caze
Director of Teaching and Learning,
Megan is an experienced educator who believes in providing the high-quality education for each individual child with the support of their educational community. Since joining GWA Megan has served the GWA community as an Elementary Learning Support Teacher, Head of Learning Support (P-12), Assistant Principal – Secondary and most recently as Director of Teaching and Learning (P-12).
Megan joined GEMS World Academy in 2011, from Brisbane secondary school as Head of SEND and Acting Assistant Principal, with qualifications in the areas of curriculum, learning support and disabilities as a Teacher of the Deaf. During her time with Queensland Education, Megan was involved in writing curriculum for literacy and numeracy for Queensland State Education, was an executive member for AATD (Australian Association for Teacher of the Deaf). Megan has also been involved with student advocacy, vocational training and provision of post school pathways.
Next to education, travel is another passion of Megan's She enjoys the exploration of different cultures, the wonder of the natural world as well as the occasional ski adventure, with trips to the Arctic, Africa and Asia on her itinerary.
Megan received her Bachelor of Education (P-10 curriculum, Special Education, and Teacher of the Deaf) from Griffith University, Australia. She is currently completing her Masters in International Education at Murdoch University.
