
Ms Rania Hussein

Rania Hussein joined GEMS World Academy – Dubai in September 2015. After having attended several international schools, and studied as an IB student, Rania graduated from the University of Western Ontario in Canada and moved to Saudi Arabia to start her international teaching career. Rania’s teaching experience has been largely characterised by her international upbringing and experience.
Rania is an experienced IB educator who has worked within the Diploma Programme for the entirety of her teaching career fulfilling a variety of roles. Rania was a Head of Year in the British International School of Jeddah, and taught the Diploma Programme and IGCSE simultaneously. Rania has taught the English Language and Literature Programme since its inception, and examines the Paper 1 and Written Task components for the IB.
At GEMS World Academy – Dubai, she has occupied the roles of CAS and Service Learning Coordinator, Research Project Coordinator and Extended Essay Coordinator. She is now overseeing the Senior School and is responsible for the academic and pastoral wellbeing of the Diploma, Courses and Career-related Programme students.
Despite her best attempts, Rania often finds herself trekking and on hikes with her friends and family. Recently, she has been hiking in Switzerland, Wales and Borneo. Rania loves living in Dubai where she is surrounded by many of her high school friends, and now resides with her husband and children.
