Primary Years Programme Coordinator (Nursery - Grade 1),
Rebecca was born and raised in West Sussex, England. She studied at Exeter University and obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Geography. Her teaching career began in the UK following completion of a PGCE in Education at Birmingham City University.
Her first international post was in Thailand, where she taught for 4 years at Bangkok Patana School. Rebecca took on a number of roles including Class Teacher in both Lower and Upper Elementary, International Award Leader (with responsibility for Silver Award Cycling), Emergency First Responder (leading First Aid training to teachers and staff) and finally Assistant Head of Year 4.
It was here that she began teaching Inquiry alongside the UK National Curriculum. Rebecca strongly values an inquiry-based approach, driven by questions, where active investigation can lead to real life connections and a deeper understanding about the world we live in.
Rebecca is passionate about the role of play in Early Childhood and how to develop learner agency through student voice, choice and ownership. Since joining GWA in 2017, Rebecca has taught in KG2 and led Mathematics in the Elementary School with her husband, Ben.
Rebecca loves travel, learning languages and exploring new places with her husband and their 3 children, Finley, Evelyn and Oscar.
