Chantal Woods
Early Years Programme Coordinator
Chantal Woods was born in South Africa and raised in England. She holds a Bachelor of Education with Honours in Primary Education from University of Hertfordshire and has a particular interest in the Early Years. Throughout her seven years at GWA she has taught Pre-K, KG1, KG2 and Grade 1. Before joining GWA, Chantal taught Year 1 and Year 4 in England. She aspires to complete a master's degree in Early Years Education and Leadership. Being a research-led teacher, she loves nothing more than reading up on the latest Early Years guidance and connecting with other Early Years educators in Dubai and around the world. Chantal is an advocate of play and believes in student agency, allowing students to inquire into the world around them. A favourite quote of hers is from Aisley Arment, who said, “Children are born with all the wonder they will need. Our job is not to take it away”. On the weekends, Chantal enjoys spending time with her two young boys – you will usually find them on the golf course, at a water park or on a rollercoaster.
