Mr Jason Caesar

Originally from Minnesota, Jason joins us from Shanghai where he has been teaching Social Studies for the past 9 years. He looks to bring a creative flair to pedagogical approaches and curriculum development which he strengthened in his former roles of Department Head of Humanities and Approaches to Teaching and Learning Coordinator. Jason’s experience with teaching both MYP and DP has allowed him to align the programs to better prepare middle school students to excel in high school and beyond. He pours his enthusiasm into his lessons to spark the curiosity of the world encouraging students to become lifelong learners.

Jason is excited to bring his passion for extracurricular activities where he has almost 20 years of experience coaching basketball and debate. He has taken his debate teams to competitions all over the world including Yale University winning many international tournaments and receiving an award for Coach of the Year from the World Scholars Cup. Jason has a Bachelor’s of Science in History Education and looks to pursue a master's after settling into his new home at GWA. Outside of school Jason lives an active adventurous life scuba diving and hiking with his wife as well as playing many sports.
