Ms Lyndsay Gray

Assistant Principal Secondary - Personal Development, Welfare and Behaviour

Lyndsay joins GEMS World Academy - Dubai as Assistant Principal Secondary - Personal Development, Welfare and Behaviour from her previous role of Director of Sport and Head of Physical Education at a British school in the UAE. In this role, Lyndsay was fortunate to work with children from Pre-Kindergarten through to young adults preparing them for life beyond secondary school. As well as implementing a number of curricula, Lyndsay managed a large team of staff, encouraging each individual to strive for success, as well as promoting a culture of effective teamwork based on trust, bravery and loyalty to one another.

Prior to travelling to the Middle East, Lyndsay worked in Scotland in the United Kingdom where she held a number of different roles in education. Lyndsay was Principal Teacher for raising attainment through parental engagement, supporting families through their child’s learning journeys and educating parents on the curricula in place for each age and stage. Additionally, she was responsible for creating and implementing a whole school behaviour policy, supporting children with their mental and emotional wellbeing as well as spearheading the campaign for child exploitation and online prevention. In our modern world, Lyndsay feels strongly that we as educators must support, educate and ultimately facilitate our young people to be prepared for their future careers.

Lyndsay holds a Bachelor of Education in Physical Education from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and a Diploma in Pupil Care and Support from Aberdeen University. She feels passionate about student welfare; aims for all children to feel supported through their learning journey, experiencing consistency in their education. Being aware of one’s own mental health, as well as recognising the needs of others, Lyndsay feels is paramount to creating well-rounded, secure and happy children in our society today.

Beyond the classroom, whether running along Kite Beach or experiencing a hike at Wadi Showka, Lyndsay enjoys exploring the outdoors in the United Arab Emirates. In her spare time, she has also taken part in a number of triathlons, played for a local netball team and travelled to countries rich in history and culture.
