International Baccalaureate (IB) 

The International Baccalaureate (IB) offers four high quality, challenging educational programmes to students aged 3 to 19. The IB programmes focus on fostering critical thinking and building problem-solving skills, while encouraging diversity, international mindedness, curiosity, and a healthy appetite for learning and excellence. An IB education provides students distinct advantages as they enter a world where asking the right questions is as important as discovering answers. 


Council of International Schools

Council of International Schools (CIS)

The Council of International Schools (CIS) is a membership community committed to high quality international education. As a global non-profit membership organisation, CIS provides services to education institutions that share these ideals:

  • a desire to provide students with the knowledge, skills and abilities to pursue their lives as global citizens; and
  • a commitment to high quality international education.

To achieve this goal, their members must infuse their programmes and offerings with international and intercultural perspective so that students can move forward with the attitudes and understanding that will provide them with a solid base wherever their studies or work may take them. Primary and secondary school members must further commit to undertaking an ongoing external quality assurance process to enhance student learning.


NEASC

New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) 

NEASC is an independent, voluntary, non-profit membership organisation which connects and serves over 1500 public, independent, and international schools worldwide. A globally recognised standard of excellence, NEASC Accreditation attests to a school’s high quality and integrity.


Young Arab Leaders

Youth Empowerment is at the heart of what Young Arab Leaders does. It seeks to leverage the capabilities and expertise of its regional network of members, in order to catalyse the entrepreneurial and professional development of Arab youth and prepare them to be the leaders of tomorrow, through mentorship and educational initiatives. Through the GEMS World Academy - Dubai Entrepreneurship Hub, this partnership provides our students with access to leading entrepreneurs in the region as speakers sharing their experiences, and as mentors to offer guidance to students embarking on entrepreneurial projects.


Wamda

Wamda inspires, empowers, and connects entrepreneurs in the Middle East and North Africa. Through the GEMS World Academy - Dubai Entrepreneurship Hub, this partnership provides our students with access to leading entrepreneurs in the MENA region for mentorship, investment knowledge, know-how and speakers.


She is Arab

She is Arab is the first dedicated speakers’ platform for Arab women in the world, with a vision to be the new voice of Arab women and a mission to represent and develop Arab women speakers and thought leaders across every sector. Through the GEMS World Academy - Dubai Entrepreneurship Hub, this partnership offers our students mentorship, speakers, coaching as well as internships.


Al Tamimi Law Firm

Founded in 1989, Al Tamimi Law Firm is the leading corporate law firm in the UAE and throughout the Middle East and North Africa.  Through the GEMS World Academy - Dubai Entrepreneurship Hub, this partnership supports entrepreneurship projects for students through IP and legal advice. 


American University of Dubai

American University of Dubai is one of the most established international universities in the region, located in one of the fastest growing and developing cities in the world. Through the GEMS World Academy - Dubai Entrepreneurship Hub, this partnership offers mentorship as well as access to university level courses to students.


United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Global Schools Programme

As a signatory, GEMS World Academy - Dubai has access to the SDG aligned curriculum and programmes, and ensures that our students are given access to important information relating to the UN SDG’s which align with the IB values and learner profile. The Academy has also independently launched a UN SDG Student Ambassador Programme to further enhance the social impact programmes at GEMS World Academy - Dubai. 


DASSA

DASSA (Dubai Affiliated School Sport Association) 

DASSA regulates sport within affiliated Dubai schools and creates sporting opportunities for all, within a structured and safe environment. Being affiliated to DASSA enables GEMS World Academy - Dubai to participate and compete in quality sport competitions in Dubai and the UAE. In 2019, 81 schools were involved in over 8635 fixtures formed from 2,131 teams and 38,028 participants. DASSA is the backbone of competitive sport in Dubai and our association with them is paramount to the sporting success of the Academy. 


Dubai School Games

The Dubai School Games is an initiative of the Dubai Sports Council in line with the UAE centennial 2071, that focuses on investing in UAE youth with the vision of helping schools to find and nurture Olympic success. The Dubai School Games incorporates the Sustainable Development Goals and the Agenda 2030, the games aim to promote physical and mental well-being. These aims and goals align with those of GEMS World Academy - Dubai hence our support and affiliation to the Dubai School Games. 


Sports Leaders Award UK (operating name The British Sports Trust)

This accreditation enables students to gain a formally recognised qualification who are able to lead and assist in the delivery of sport and physical activity sessions. At GEMS World Academy - Dubai, our students undertaking the qualification in Sports Leadership will learn and demonstrate important life skills such as effective communication and organisation whilst learning to lead basic physical activities to younger students, their peers and the wider Academy community.


Instituto Cervantes

GEMS World Academy - Dubai is affiliated with the Instituto Cervantes and is an accredited DELE (Diploma of Spanish as a foreign language) examination centre. Taking the DELE will allow our students to have a diploma certifying their mastery of the language. DELE (Diplomas en Español) is an official qualification certifying the degree of competence and mastery of Spanish granted by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Spain. The DELE is recognised worldwide by public and private educational institutions, governments and corporations. There are 6 levels of the DELE diploma: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2. 


Association of Science Education

The interest of young people in science is developed by inspiring and knowledgeable teachers and technicians. The Association of Science Education is a professional community dedicated to supporting excellence in science teaching and learning and enables GEMS World Academy - Dubai to ensure it is kept fully up to date with everything current in Science education. The association offers excellent Professional Development opportunities for our Science Teachers and Technicians.


Near East South Asia

The Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools is a non-profit association of more than 100 private, independent American/international schools serving students and their families in North Africa, the Middle East and South Asia. For 50 years they have focused on promoting exemplary professional learning opportunities for educators working in their schools - in service of improved student learning.


Eco-Schools

Eco-Schools Programme

The Foundation for Environmental Education and the Emirates Centre for Arab Towns formulated the Eco-Schools initiative to address the growing need to link environmental awareness with academic curricula. Academies enrolled in the Eco-School programme are required to meet the comprehensive criteria involved and work towards achieving sustainability goals. The prestigious Eco-Schools Green Flag is awarded for excellence in environmental education and action-based learning. GEMS World Academy - Dubai has achieved the rare distinction of securing the Green Flag for five consecutive years. By creating opportunities for students to understand, act and commit towards shaping a sustainable future, the Academy is nurturing a generation of environmentally conscious young individuals, who can go on to make an indelible impact on the worldwide efforts to create a more sustainable civilisation.
