GEMS World Academy - Dubai has a comprehensive and active programme and the range of activities we provide means that whether your child is sporty, musical, dramatic, thoughtful, competitive, curious, caring or creative, there is something to inspire and enrich. All primary and secondary students are encouraged to find an activity they like, sign up and challenge themselves. Our Enrichment Opportunities cover various areas including competitions, music, performing arts, sport and talks and presentations.
Beyond the Classroom
Our Enrichment Opportunities can be divided into categories; these include: Clubs and Committees, Performing and Expressive Arts, Sports, Languages, Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Social Impact, Trips and Events and the Genius Method: Leadership and Volunteering. We provide opportunities over the course of the three terms, some clubs are offered yearly while others only termly. There is no charge for the vast majority of Enrichment Opportunities, however some may involve a fee for additional costs, to cover specialist materials or external tuition (e.g. skiing, golf).
It is not uncommon for students to develop a long-lasting interest and enthusiasm for their activities, continuing on to more advanced levels as they progress through and beyond the classroom. This Enrichment Opportunities Programme therefore makes an important contribution to the all-round education that the Academy provides.
Clubs take place online and sports take place on campus between 3:15pm – 4:00pm. The Enrichment Opportunities Programme has been tailored to ensure it follows and adheres to the KHDA and Dubai Authorities health and safety Covid 19 guidelines. Please email Ms Fiona Ryan for further details: [email protected]. An example of activities offered can be found in our Term 3 booklet below.
Week Without Walls
We are also proud of our Week Without Walls (WWW) programme which is designed to help all students (Pre-K to Grade 12) to become more internationally minded and better global citizens. During WWW, students are able to engage in sustainable service projects, gain awareness of the issues that transcend national borders, develop an understanding of issues such; as poverty, indigenous people and environmental degradation and preservation.
