About The EIS Programme

We are here to develop an entrepreneurial mind-set in students, encouraging them to be innovative for positive social impact.

At the core of the GEMS World Academy – Dubai mission is our commitment to develop inquiring, reflective and caring leaders who will graduate from our Academy with the knowledge, skill and character to take action and create a better and more peaceful world.

Against a backdrop of an ever-changing world, our role is to prepare our students for the world that awaits them. In tomorrow's world, students are far more likely to have to create their own employment since 65% of the jobs students will engage in do not exist today. We can’t prepare them for jobs that don’t yet exist, so we prepare them to be agile and adaptable in the face of profound shifts.

We are the only school in Dubai to be a signatory of the Academy commitment to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.

Our graduates enter a constantly changing world that will require flexibility, creativity, collaboration and nimbleness to adapt to rapid change. Increasingly, our students will need to think like entrepreneurs moving the mind-set from ‘what do you want to be when you grow up?’ to ‘what problem do you want to solve in the world?’.

“As entrepreneurs, we must continue to ask ourselves ‘what’s next?’ It takes humility to realize we don’t know everything, not to rest on our laurels and know that we must keep learning and observing” – Cher Wang, Co-founder of HTC at WEF 2021

As the GEMS Centre of Excellence for Entrepreneurship and Youth Start-up, we are incorporating these areas into the everyday life of each and every student, starting from KG1 to Grade 12.

The Academy is seamlessly integrating these topics into the curriculum to build a culture of innovative thinking and instil an entrepreneurial mind-set in all students. Our aim is to offer students at GEMS World Academy – Dubai every opportunity to develop in these three pillars that follows.

We embed entrepreneurship into the curriculum from KG1 to Grade 12

How are these pillars linked? We see them as follows:

  • Entrepreneurship is the development of key life skills
  • Innovation is a mind-set
  • Social Impact are guiding principles

The Hub at GWA is an incubator for students’ ideas, offering mentoring opportunities, exposure to entrepreneurs and innovators, annual competitions and a hub for collaboration with the ultimate goal of developing and graduating students ready for the world that awaits them.
